Diversity Awareness and Advocacy

(DAA)

White Rock Montessori's DAA Mission Statement

White Rock Montessori's Diversity, Awareness and Advocacy mission is to build awareness and appreciation for human diversity, to empower all to be co-creators of an inclusive community, and ultimately to advocate for themselves and for others.

White Rock Montessori's DAA Goal Statement

We are committed to fostering an understanding and appreciation for the unique characteristics that reveal human diversity and to develop awareness of social and global justice issues. Through focused lessons, book reads, and classroom discussions, we take a purposeful, fearless look at ourselves, our differences, and our connections so we can ensure our community feels welcomed, valued, affirmed and honored.

Join the Conversation!

Join us in the Art Room every third Thursday from 8:45-9:45am for a discussion of a specific Diversity topic with our parent DAA Committee.

"An education capable of saving humanity is no small undertaking; it involves the spiritual development of man, the enhancement of his value as an individual, and the preparation of young people to understand the times in which they live.”

- Dr. Maria Montessori
